893 - State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Residence)
After holding a Business Skills State Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) visa you can then apply for a permanent visa providing you meet all the requirements. Applicants in this category must be sponsored by a state/territory government.
There is no points test for this visa.

Main Criteria

To make an application for the State Territory Sponsored Investor (Residence) visa, you will need to show that you;

- are sponsored by a State or Territory government;
- hold a State/Territory Sponsored Investor (Provisional) visa;
- have maintained your designated investments for the minimum 4 years; and
- have been resident in the sponsoring state or territory as the holder of a qualifying visa for at least 2 years in the last 4 years
- have no history of unacceptable business activities
- have a genuine and realistic commitment to continue to maintain a business or investment activity in Australia after your 4 year investment has matured

New Zealand - New Zealand delays updated skills shortage list

The revised Essential Skills in Demand Lists, which include the Long Term Skill Shortage List and the Immediate Skill Shortage List were scheduled to come into effect on 01 December 2008. It is now expected that the updated lists will not come into effect until 03 March 2009. Read more >
