892 - State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Residence)
Business Owner (Residence) is for people who hold a Business Skills (Provisional) visa and have had an ownership interest in a business in Australia for at least 2 years with significant personal and business assets and turnover as well as a minimum number of employees. Applicants must have been in Australia for at least one year in the two years immediately before applying. Applicants in this category may be sponsored by a state/territory government.
There is no points test for this visa.
Main Criteria
You must be able to evidence that;
- - are sponsored by a state or territory government;
- - hold any of the Business Skills (Provisional) visas or a Temporary Business (Long Stay) Independent Executive visa;
- - have an ownership interest in one or more actively operating main business(es) for at least 2 years;
- - be involved in the strategic management of the business;
- - in the last 12 months have established at least 2 of the following 3 points (unless exceptional circumstances exist):
- - substantial net assets in business (A$75,000) or
- - have substantial net business and personal assets (A$250,000) or
- - employ at least 1 Australian citizen or permanent resident; employee who is not a family member
- - have achieved a significant annual turnover in your business (A$200,000 in the last 12 months);
- - have no history of unacceptable business activities; and
- - have been in Australia as the holder of a qualifying visa for at least 1 year in the last 2 years.
