163 - State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Provisional)
State/Territory Sponsored Business Owner (Provisional) is for people who have an overall successful business career which includes senior management or ownership. You must have significant business assets and be prepared to participate as a principal in the management of a new or existing business. Applicants in this category must be sponsored by a state/territory government.
There is no points test for this visa.
Main Criteria
- - You must be less than 55 years old unless exceptional circumstances exist at time of application
You must have:
- - sponsorship by a State or Territory government
- - an overall successful business career
- - an ownership interest (eg. shareholder, partner sole trader) in a business that has achieved a significant annual turnover (A$300,000 for at least 2 of the last 4 fiscal years) or
- - have continuous employment record at senior management level for at least 3 of the last 5 years
- - significant business and personal assets (A$250,000)
- - have sufficient net assets to settle in Australia
- - no history of unacceptable business activities
You must also show that you have a realistic commitment to either establish a business in Australia or to participate in an existing business in Australia. You must show that you intend to maintain a substantial ownership interest in that business and to maintain direct and continuous involvement in management of that business.
