890 - Business Owner (Residence)
Business Owner (Residence) is for people who hold a Business Skills (Provisional) visa and have had an ownership interest in a business in Australia for at least 2 years with significant personal and business assets and turnover as well as a minimum number of employees. Applicants must have been in Australia for at least one year in the two years immediately before applying.
There is no points test for this visa.

 

Main Criteria

You must be able to evidence that you;

  • - hold any of the Business Skills (Provisional) visas;

  • - have an ownership interest in one or more actively operating main business(es) for at least 2 years;

  • - are involved in the strategic management of the business(es);

employ at least 2 Australian citizen or permanent resident employees who are not family members;

  • - have substantial business and personal assets (net value of A$250,000);

  • - have substantial net assets in business (A$100,000 for the last 12 months);

  • - have achieved a significant annual turnover in your business (of at least A$300,000 in the last 12 months);

  • - have no history of unacceptable business activities; and

  • - have been in Australia as the holder of a qualifying visa for at least 1 year in the last 2 year
